“All things laser”

Laser treatment for unwanted Pigmentation

Laser treatment can be used for certain benign pigmentation concerns following careful assessment. Not all pigmentation is suitable for laser treatment, and clinical judgement is essential to ensure appropriate management and referral where required.

Who This Treatment May Help

Pigmentation treatment may be suitable for:

  • Those suffering with Melasma

  • Areas that have had alot of sun exposure

  • Uneven pigmentation

  • Blotchy scattered pigmentation on any body area

    Suitability is assessed during consultation.

    Assessment & Safety

All treatments begin with a clinical assessment to determine whether laser treatment is appropriate.

    Factors considered include:

    • Skin type

    • Skin quality, age and fragility

    • Pigment type - hormonal vs sun induced

    • Medical history and medications

    • Where laser is not appropriate, guidance on alternative options or referral may be recommended

      Treatment Process

Treatment may include either Laser or IPL depending on best option for your pigment type but typically involves a series of treatments spaced several weeks apart.

Treatment intervals allow the skin to recover and the body to clear fragmented pigment between sessions.

Clear aftercare guidance is provided following each treatment, which include the use of good skincare and preventative SPF

      Experience & Approach

With over 25 years’ experience in laser practice, treatment is delivered with a careful, assessment-led approach.

Stacey has also spent 12 years as a Senior Clinical Tutor with the NZ Laser Training Institute and has a special

interest in vascular abnormalities and tattoo removal.

Consultation & Assessment

All treatments begin with an individual consultation and skin assessment.

This allows time to review your concerns, assess suitability for laser treatment, and discuss realistic expectations.

Factors considered may include skin type, medical history, medications, and the nature of the condition being treated.

If laser treatment is not appropriate, alternative options or referral may be recommended.

Appointments are arranged directly.
